Honolulu, HI has 8 tea rooms and tea shops in this guide.
8 tea spots
Honolulu runs on two tea traditions: oceanfront hotel afternoon tea and Japanese matcha. Three hotels serve tiered tea on verandas, Halekulani and the Moana Surfrider in Waikiki and The Kahala on the east side, while Tea at 1024 in Chinatown has run a hat-and-teacup tea room on Nuuanu Avenue since 1999. Matcha is the newer wave: Daily Whisk Matcha whisks every drink by hand in Kaimuki, and Maruwu Seicha and As You Like both opened in Waikiki in fall 2025. Lupicia, the Japanese tea company, keeps its only Hawaii store at Ala Moana Center.
Waikiki has the most options: Afternoon Tea at Halekulani, The Veranda at Moana Surfrider, Maruwu Seicha and As You Like. Tea at 1024 is in Chinatown, Lupicia is at Ala Moana Center, Daily Whisk Matcha is in Kaimuki, and The Veranda at The Kahala is in the Kahala neighborhood east of Diamond Head.
