Most of the Dallas area's Taiwanese boba brands opened in the northern suburbs, not in Dallas itself: The Alley is in Garland and Plano, and Chicha San Chen chose Carrollton in February 2025. Inside the city, shops cluster on Lower Greenville, in the Bishop Arts District and along Preston Road in Preston Hollow. Craft Boba Tea cooks its tapioca from scratch every morning, which takes about 90 minutes.
