About Yuuki-Cha

Yuuki-Cha is a small family-run online shop on the east coast of the Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture, selling since 2007. "Yuuki" means organic in Japanese, and almost the whole range is certified organic tea shipped straight from Japan.

The catalog leans on single-farm green teas named by place and cultivar: Kirishima Sencha Saemidori, Tenryu Misakubo sencha from Shizuoka, Yakushima sencha from the island south of Kagoshima, hand-picked Kagoshima gyokuro and pan-fired kamairicha from Miyazaki. It also lists matcha, oolong and black tea. For a first order, pick one steamed sencha and the Miyazaki kamairicha; the pan-fired leaf tastes nothing like steamed sencha, and few Western shops stock it.
