About Verdant Tea

Verdant Tea was founded in 2010 by David and Lily Duckler with Weiwei Ren and Wang Huimin, after a research grant to record tea folklore in China. It began in Minneapolis and later moved its operations to China; its headquarters is in Jimo near Laoshan, and Laoshan farmer He Qingqing co-owns the China business.

The best-known teas come from the He family in Laoshan, Shandong, one of China's northernmost green tea regions: flat-pressed and biluochun-style green tea, Laoshan black tea and a huai flower herbal. Other farms supply Wuyi oolong. Order the 2026 Spring Flat Pressed Laoshan Green first; it is the tea the company built its name on.
