Nepal Tea Collective, sold as Nepal Tea, was founded in 2016 by Nishchal Baskota and has run its US headquarters from Long Island City, Queens since 2020. Pratik Rijal, a third-generation tea producer, later joined as co-founder. The company is B Corp certified and passed $1 million in revenue in 2024.
Its tea comes from Kanchanjangha Tea Estate in eastern Nepal, which Baskota's grandfather set up in 1984 as the country's first certified organic tea garden; more than 100 farming families contributed land to it.
