Kettl is a tea company based in Brooklyn, New York with 3 shops you can visit and 71 teas in stock in our catalog. Last updated October 1, 2026 by My Tea Explorer.
Kettl is a Japanese tea importer founded by Zach Mangan, with offices in Brooklyn and Fukuoka. It runs three shops: a tea bar at 70 Greenpoint Ave, a matcha-only counter called Matcha Sen Mon Ten at 38 Norman Ave, both in Greenpoint, and a Los Feliz shop at 4677 Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles.
Every matcha on the site names its region and often its maker: Uji Homare from Kyotanabe, Hukuju from Yame, Shirakawa Asahi from Kiyoharu Tsuji in Uji, an organic single-cultivar Saemidori from Kagoshima. Kettl also sells seasonal shincha, Japanese black tea from Ibaraki, and ceramics. Mangan wrote the 2022 book Stories of Japanese Tea. First order: Uji Homare for lattes, or Hukuju if you drink matcha straight.
