About DAVIDsTEA
DAVIDsTEA was founded in 2008 by David Segal and his cousin Herschel Segal and opened its first store on Queen Street in Toronto that year. Its head office is on Ferrier Street in the Town of Mount Royal, Quebec, and it trades on the TSX Venture Exchange as DTEA. After a 2020 creditor-protection filing it closed all 42 US stores and most Canadian ones; its store locator now lists 23 shops, all in Canada. Most volume goes through its website and grocery, pharmacy and convenience accounts in Canada and the US.
The range is built around flavoured blends: most of the list is flavoured or herbal, with a long run of matcha. Straight teas are a short list. Start with Organic Ceremonial Matcha, Organic Silk Dragon Jasmine, or Guangzhou Milk Oolong, a flavoured Fujian oolong; if you want a caffeine-free cup, try the Forever Nuts herbal blend.
